Air-fried to golden perfection, they deliver an irresistible combination of savory garlic, crispy edges, and just the right amount of salt. Perfect as a snack before dinner, a garnish, or side, they prove that great flavor comes from resourcefulness.

Why You’ll Love Them:

  • Crispy & Addictive – Light, golden, and perfectly crunchy.

  • Garlic Goodness – The deep umami of garlic granules brings out the best in potatoes.

  • Quick & Easy – Just toss, air fry, and enjoy in under 15 minutes.

  • Waste-Free Cooking – A clever way to use up potato peelings and reduce food waste.

three-spoonfuls

Ingredients:

  • Potato peelings (from 3-4 potatoes, washed & dried)
  • Spray oil (light, even coating)
  • ½  tsp garlic granules
  • 2 tsp of salt (or to taste)

Prepping & Cooking Time:

   Prep Time: 5 minutes

   Cook Time: 8-12 minutes

   Total Time: 15 minutes

Instructions:

1  Prep the Peelings:

Wash and dry the potatoes, ensuring the skins are completely clean and moisture-free, as any dampness can prevent crisping. Lightly spray with oil for an even, crispy texture without excess grease. Toss with garlic granules, salt, and black pepper for maximum flavor.

2 Air Fry to Perfection:

Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (180°C).

Spread the peelings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Overcrowding leads to uneven cooking so make sure there’s a bit of space. I did mine across two airfryer compartments.

Cook at 180 for 8-12 minutes, shaking halfway through, until the peelings are golden and crisp.

3 Serve & Enjoy:

Taste and adjust the seasoning, adding more salt if needed or a pinch of chili flakes for an extra kick. Enjoy as a snack, a crunchy salad topping, or a flavorful soup garnish.

Pro Tips:

  • Extra Crispy? – Let the peelings sit for a minute after air frying; they crisp up even more!
  • Boost the Flavor – Add smoked paprika or Parmesan for a gourmet twist.
  • Best Potatoes? – Russets give the crispiest results, but Yukon Golds add a buttery texture.

FAQs:

Can I make these in the oven instead of an air fryer?

Yes!
To bake them in the oven, preheat to 400°F (200°C) and spread the seasoned peelings in a single layer on a lined baking sheet.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.

How do I store leftover crispy potato peelings?

These are best enjoyed fresh but if you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a day. To re-crisp, pop them in the air fryer or oven at  350°F (175°C) for a few minutes before serving.
